Brighton I Lost to Crawley Squash Club II in a close match.

With the away team having higher Gradings in 3 of the strings, Home advantage looked to be needed to take the win. The stats turned out to be correct, with a fine Away win.

On paper, the number 4 string should have been the closest, with only 64 ranking points separating the two players before the match. Home advantage prevailed though, with Pete Berry winning through.

It was the number 3 String which turned out to be the most competitive, with the Players battling out over a total of 99 Points ! Victory finally going to the Away Player, Mark Wheeler.

Player of the tie was the Away No. 2 string, David Poulton, gaining 70 Ranking Points from the match.

Player of the match must be the Away number 2 string, David Poulton, who over-turned a 242 ranking points disadvantage to record a great win.
Home string 5 played as an unranked player and has been added retrospectively. He did not play in the club’s bottom team and is therefore an ineligible player. Brighton -3, Crawley +3
